Myths & Legends of Cusco
Starting from the San Cristobal Church and the homonymous quarter, full of good stories, we’ll continue down the streets surrounding Plaza de Armas towards San Blas.
A suggestive walk between myths and legends of the ancient capital of the Inca empire. How can you miss it?
Every day from 6pm to 8pm, duration: about 2 hours.
This excursion includes the best highlights of Cusco – “the navel of the world” and the center of the ancient Inca Empire. We will visit Q’oricancha, the Inca Temple of the Sun and then tour Cusco’s Cathedral, a 16th century church filled with original artwork and an amazing main altar made of silver. After that we’ll tour the four primary ruins surrounding Cusco, including Sacsaywaman, Q’enko, Tambomachay and Puka Pukara. As part of the tour you will receive the “Tourist Ticket” which can be used in your free time to visit a number of museums and other attractions in and around Cusco.
We’ll take a beautiful tour of the ancient agricultural center of the Incas. We’ll travel by bus from Cusco down into the lush, green Sacred Valley. Along the way, we’ll stop at a traditional Peruvian arts center and private zoo where we’ll see firsthand Peru’s ancient weaving traditions and be able to feed and pet highland animals like alpaca and vicuña up-close. We’ll then travel down to the village of Pisac where we’ll take a tour of the ancient archeological complex, followed by the famous Pisac market. We’ll continue our journey through the Valley, stopping for lunch in the city of Urubamba – known as the ‘Pearl of the Vilcanota.’ Finally, we’ll drive right to the end of the Valley to the tiny village of Ollantaytambo, and take brief tour of the ruins in this little fortress town; and then make our way to the Ollantaytambo train station for our train ride to Aguas Calientes – the village is right on the edge of the Amazon Rainforest and literally at the foot of the mystical Machupicchu Mountain. Wolk to Mandor´s Garden. At night we will do San Pedro ceremony in Mandor.
With the sunrise we will wolk to Mandor´s waterfall to connect with this special place. When we feel ready we will wolk to Aguas Calientes. Then we’ll take the 20-minute bus ride up to the sanctuary-city of Macupicchu. We’ll then enjoy a 2-hour guided visit of the ancient ruins. Rest of the afternoon to enjoy Machupicchu on your own. We will go back down to Aguas Calients. *Opctional relax in the hot springs.
We’ll take the train back to Cusco and arrive in Cusco late at night.

No se deben olvidar de las inclemencias del tiempo que no hacen más que incrementar la sensación de aventura y concienciarnos que estamos andando en los majestuosos Andes, ya que la seguridad y tranquilidad con la que nuestro guía afronta cada situación nos hace pensar que no estamos muy lejos de casa.
We will travel by car for 3 hours to Tinki. From there we will take another transport for 20 minutes to the little school of Pacchanta. We will wolk 1 hour to arrive to Pacchanta. Acomodation at the familiar hostel and optional bath to the hot springs. Night in Pacchanta.
We will wake up early to start our ascend by horse to the lakes on the bases of Ausangate mountain. We will do diferents rituals asking for permision to the Apu and to conect with the water. We will come back for lunch to Pacchanta. Optional bath in the hot springs. We will wolk againg to the little school and take our transport direction to Kai Kai. Night in Kai Kai
We will dedicate the whole day to the San Pedro experience at day light.
We will leave early to the Peruvian Amazon. A small bus will take us through narrow roads that are sometimes crossed by small springs.
We will make some stops so you can see the first animals that inhabit the forest around, like monkeys, colorful birds and parrots.
After your arrival at Chontachaca where the adventure begins when you cross the river in a cart to reach the shelter.
Karina Malpica, will offer an overview about the different types of shamanism and specifically about working with the allies or power animals. Afterwards through ritual guidance, you will play the game and find your three power animals, which are coded in you to remind you of what your soul set out to learn and teach others in this life.
In the morning you will visit the waterfall and other natural areas where Karina in a shamanic exercise will assist you to make direct contact with your power animals taking advantage of the strong connection that exists when you are in the heart of the jungle.
This is a simple and effective technique, which you can repeat anytime to communicate with your animals during periods when you need guidance or inspiration to face the challenges of your daily life.
Optional: This Night you can also participate in a Ceremony of “Contact with Nature” communing with the sacred plant Ayahuasca , which has been used in Peru for centuries safely for this purpose.
In the afternoon Karina will show other uses of Power Animals Game and you can ask questions and find answers and guidance.
You can go to sleep early in the darkness of the impressive jungle lulled by the orchestra sounds of insects and other nocturnal inhabitants.
After breakfast we will take our last walk in the jungle and take a refreshing swim in the Madre de Dios River.
On our way back we will visit the Cloud Forest which we have left for the last part of our journey, which takes us back to Cusco, the Inca capital.
We will rise before dawn and take the boat down the river to visit a parrot clay lick. After visiting the lick we will have breakfast. The trip will continue making different stops for short walks and will visit the Catamaran Machuasi Cocha, a perfect ecosystem for bird watching and hopefully different mammalian species. We will have lunch on the boat and then travel back to Amaru Mayu. When we return to camp for the evening, there will be free time (for the most active of the group they can continue walks in search of different mammals or take short boat trips around the area). With the first light of sunset, we will take an evening walk, trying to surprise some species of nocturnal animals (monkeys, bats, bamboo rats, insects ...) We will stay overnight at the lodge Amaru Mayu.
